At dinner the other night, my three year old refused to eat the vegetables (or anything really).  This is typical and he insists he doesn't like them. I frankly can't remember him ever trying them.  So during this particular dinner, I played a little game with himI asked him to close his eyes and I'd give him a bite of something and he'd try to guess what it was.  I was quite shocked when it worked.  I started with the meat, because normally he has no issues with meat.  Then I gave him a bite of potato, after all he does like them fried.  Next I ventured into new territory and gave him a pea.  He couldn't tell me what it was, which made me laugh considering he doesn't like them.  But he ate it and let me keep playing the game with him.  Next up was a carrot, which he gladly ate too.  Now I started giving him two foods at once.  We played the game until his food was all gone.  I did have to play too and let him give me mystery bites, but he still ate the majority of it.

Will it work again?  Probably not.  But at least I know, no matter what he says, that he likes peas and carrots.

You should submit this to parent hacks if it does work again.
