Maybe you've seen The Self Portrait Truthiness group on Flickr. A bunch of women, bloggers, mothers, professionals and friends taking pictures of themselves right as they roll out of bed.
    No makeup.
    No combs.
    No makeup.
    No toothbrushes.
To me this is beauty. Being honest and real in a way that we rarely are even with our closest girlfriends who live just down the street. Why as women do we care so deeply if someone sees us without our makeup? Why do we base how well our day goes on how good our hair looks rather than how bright the sun is shining?

    What about you?

    Truthiness Project.

Are you brave enough to take the challenge?

Come on over to Blissfully Domestic Living. Let's discuss your thoughts on real beauty.

No, I am not brave enough, thank you very much. Pride. And I am not as cute as all of you. Can I brush my hair and sneak on a little moisturizer- with tint, and just a little lip gloss, mascara won't hurt, probably a little smidge of blush:)

      good for you!
i think i shall do this, depending of course, on how the picture turns out. ;)

    5. Mrs. Flinger Says:

      Yup, I did it. :-)

    6. Jenni Says:

Wait a minute? We're supposed to look different by mid-afternoon?

    7. Jen Says:

heehee I'm with you, crunchy domestic goddess- I'll only participate if the photo doesn't turn out absolutely terrible ;)

Casey, You are sickeningly cute. :-)

    9. Heather Says:

I'm totally mesmerized by your shirt…I'm kind of ashamed to admit that it took me a WHILE to realize it said UTAH. I thought it was some some kind of text message way to say HATE YOU.

I'll post a picture of myself…once my big zits go away!!! I mean, they're cute and all, but I don't really want to remember them.

    10. Loralee Says:

I'm trying to figure out a way to make Heather's comment into some bizarre Utah tribute to you but my brain is fried mush at this point.

    11. Mrs. Fussypants Says:

      Way too vain!

    12. Beachmom Says:

well if I were as cute as you sans my "enhancements" maybe I would post one … oh yeah, that's right, I would have to take a pic of myself first and that just doesn't happen in these parts!

    13. Anna Says:

It would pretty much look the same as I always do. Except the brushing teeth part becuase I always do that.

    14. Reese Says:

Ha! Pretty similar to how I go to work every day! I haven't put on makeup since I was on the west coast for Thanksgiving.

Tell Dell that Herbert says hello!
